What is Pigment Correction Therapy?

Pigment Correction Therapy is a laser-based treatment designed to reduce excess pigmentation in the skin caused by sun exposure, hormonal changes, inflammation or ageing. It targets melanin deposits to help even out skin tone and improve overall radiance.

What types of pigmentation does it treat?

This treatment can effectively reduce:

Sun spots and freckles
Age spots (solar lentigo)
Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH)
Melasma
General uneven tone and blotchiness

How does the laser work on pigmentation?

The laser emits light energy that is selectively absorbed by melanin (pigment) in the skin. This energy shatters pigment clusters into smaller particles, which the body gradually clears away through natural skin turnover and lymphatic processes.

Does it hurt?

Most clients describe the treatment as a mild warming or quick snapping sensation. It’s typically very tolerable, and sessions are short. We use cooling methods to increase comfort during the procedure if needed.

How many sessions will I need?

Is there downtime?

There is minimal to no downtime. Treated spots may temporarily darken before flaking off or fading over 7–14 days. Mild redness or warmth is common immediately after treatment but settles quickly.

Can it be used on all skin tones?

We treat a wide range of skin types safely, but not all laser wavelengths are suitable for deeper skin tones. A consultation and test patch will be performed to ensure treatment suitability and minimise risk of pigment disruption.

Will the pigment come back?

Treated pigmentation is often significantly reduced or cleared, but new pigment can form over time due to sun exposure, hormones, or other triggers. Maintenance treatments and good skincare (especially daily SPF) can help prolong your results.
